May 15, 1948, marked the establishment of the state of Israel. This date is referred to by Palestinians as the Nakba, or catastrophe, in reference to the ethnic cleansing of Palestine and the loss of the Palestinian homeland. More than 750,000 Palestinians were forced from their homes and land. Israel is an apartheid state, similar to the white settler regime that ruled South Africa. Israel continues its illegal occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, in spite of worldwide condemnation.
Palestinians in the occupied territories and within Israel are under constant attack, denied their basic human rights. In 1982, Israel invaded Lebanon and laid siege to Beirut in a full-scale assault designed to wipe out the presence of the Palestinian resistance within Lebanon. In one horrific action, Israeli forces, working with the fascist Phalange militia, orchestrated the massacres at the Sabra and Shatilla refugee camps in which hundreds of Palestinians were killed.

Words: Down with Zionism, U.S./Israel Out of Lebanon. Long Live the Palestinian & Lebanese Resistance.
