In 1991, Attorney Anita Hill was vilified for her testimony accusing Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment during his then successful Supreme Court confirmation hearings. For many women, this was just another example of male power as her testimony echoed their own experiences. The “leaders”of the Senate, including Joe Biden, sided with Mr. Thomas, belittling her testimony. In many ways this was a precursor to the #MeToo movement, but unfortunately was repeated when Christine Blasey Ford testified against now Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2019. This bumper sticker echoed the sentiments of millions across the country and was displayed on cars, lamp posts and store fronts.
